Formatia Arctic Monkeys a fost nominalizata la sapte categorii in cadrul Premiilor NME 2008, intre care `Cea mai buna trupa britanica`, `Cel mai bun videoclip` - pentru `Teddy Picker`, `Cea mai buna piesa` - `Fluorescent Adolescent` si `Cel mai bun album` - `Favourite Worst Nightmare`.

In cadrul sectiunii `Cel mai bun artist britanic`, Arctic Monkeys concureaza cu Babyshambles , The Cribs, Klaxons si Muse .

La categoria `Cel mai bun album`, trupa ii are ca rivali pe membrii ` Babyshambles ` cu `Shotters Nation`, pe The Enemy cu `We'll Live And Die In These Towns`, pe Klaxons cu `Myths Of The Near Future` si pe Radiohead cu `In Rainbows`.

Controversata interpreta Amy Winehouse a fost si ea nominalizata la trei categorii, dintre care insa doar una ii face cinste. Ea a fost propusa pentru: `Cel mai bun artist solo`, `Cel mai prost imbracat` si `Eroul negativ al anului`.

Gala decernarii Premiilor NME va avea loc pe data de 28 februarie.
