Aseara s-au decernat la Los Angeles cele mai importante premii din industria muzicala, premiile Grammy.

Desi Eminem era considerat favoritul acestei editii, marii castigatori au fost Lady Antebellum. Acestia au primit cinci premii Grammy, spre surprinderea multora.

Triou-ul country a fost recompensat cu premiile Recording of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Country Album, Country Song si Country Performance by Duo or Group With Vocals.

Si la categoria `Cel mai bun album al anului` s-a lasat cu surprize. Arcade Fire au castigat titlul cu The Suburbs, surclasand astfel nume grele precum Eminem, Lady GaGa, Lady Antebellum si Katy Perry.

Din cele zece nominalizari primite, Eminem a plecat acasa cu doar doua premii, Best Rap Album - Recovery si Best Rap Performance - Not Afraid.

Lady GaGa a fost din nou in centrul atentiei. Cantareata, care a sosit pe covorul rosu intr-un ou transparent, a luat trei premii: Best Pop Vocal Album - The Fame Monster, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance si Short-Form Music Video, pentru Bad Romance.

Bruno Mars a castigat un premiu Grammy din sapte posibile, pentru Male Pop Vocal Performance - Nothing On You.

Titlul de Cel mai bun artist debutant s-a indreptat catre Esperanza Spalding, care devine prima cantareata de muzica jazz din istoria Grammy care ia acest trofeu.

Printre ceilalti castigatori ai premiilor Grammy s-au numarat Rihanna, Muse, Miranda Lambert, Sade, Jay-Z & Alicia Keys si Michael Buble.
