Louis Armstrong

Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong ( 4 august 1901, New Orleans, Louisiana - 6 iulie 1971, New York City) a fost un trompetist si cantaret de jazz, unul din exponentii cei mai reprezentativi ai "Stilului New Orleans" in muzica de jazz executata in Chicago in jurul anilor 1920 - 1930.

Louis Armstrong- Biografie

Dupa ce a fost eliberat, cutreiera strazile New Orleans-lui impreuna cu o mica formatie orchestrala simpatizata de populatia orasului, executand, printre altele, bucata "When the Saints Go Marchin'in", care - ani mai tarziu - avea sa fie una din piesele sale cele mai interpretate.
