<p>Latin star Thala became involved in show business at the age of nine after joining a local group called Din Din. The children-oriented outfit recorded their debut album, titled Alegrias Musicales, in 1981. Two years later, Ariadna Thala Sodi Miranda successfully participated in the local festival Juguemos A Cantar, singing a pop tune called "Moderna Chica Del Rock," and soon played a role in the musical Vaselina (the Latin version of Grease).</p><P>In 1986, Thala joined the Mexican teen pop act Timbiriche without leaving her acting roles in popular soap operas such as Quinceaera and Luz y Sombra. Her solo career began in 1990 with the release of a self-titled album produced by Alfredo Daz Ordaz. Mundo de Cristal followed in 1991, and Love in 1992. Emilio Estefan, Jr. produced En Extasis before Thala released the successful Amor a la Mexicana and Arrasando. In 2002, the Mexican singer/actress teamed up with producers Cory Rooney and Steve Morales to start working on her first crossover songs. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
