Producatorul melodiei este burlacul Jermaine Dupri , iubitul lui Janet Jackson .

`Cand veti asculta piesa, veti intelege ce a vrut Jay-Z sa spuna prin versurile `Semintele devin plante/Baietii devin barbati/Cu totii trebuie sa mergem in sus, nu in jos`, a declarat Usher pentru MTV, referitor la melodia "Best Thing".

Jay-Z s-a casatorit cu Beyonce Knowels pe 26 aprilie 2008. Usher s-a insurat cu Tameka Foster, cu care are si un copil, in august anul trecut.
